Protocols gRPC, SPARQL Protocol, Bolt

gRPC (port 5700, used by Altair front-end/console apps) and SPARQL 1.1 HTTP(S) are the primary client protocols; an optional enable_ocx setting also exposes OpenCypher over Bolt, which the draft did not mention.

License Proprietary

Commercial product with a restricted free edition; sold under Altair Units licensing. The vendor licence page refuses automated fetches, so this cites an archived product page from its Cambridge Semantics era.

Released 2018

Narrowed from '2018-10' to year-only: Cambridge Semantics first previewed the underlying product (AnzoGraph) in February/May 2018, with the October 2018 date in the current record reflecting the later standalone-download milestone rather than first public availability. The product keeps this original date under its current name, Altair Graph Lakehouse (rebranded 2025).

Language C++

Confirms current value. A third-party technical review states the query engine compiles queries into C++; product documentation likewise offers a C++ API (alongside JVM) for extensions, consistent with a C++ core.

vendor Siemens

Siemens closed its acquisition of Altair Engineering on March 26, 2025; the graph product now ships under Siemens' Rapidminer brand.

Altair Graph Lakehouse is now sold as Rapidminer Graph Lakehouse, a capability of Rapidminer Graph Studio under Siemens; the old altair.com path just redirects to a generic Siemens page.
